It Is Finished

Well, sort of. I am finished my online portfolio. The items needed - Website, Media Campaign, Flash Game, DVD Sample and Demo Reel - are all up on the portfolio page.

A great sense of relief has washed over me, but at the same time I feel as if I should have to be working on something.

Well, I do have to work on something. I have to fix up my print work to keep my profs occupied while I get ready to present, but that’s pretty much it until Thursday. Until then, lots of rest and maybe a bit of work.

It’s Okay… I Figured It Out

So, after much pulling of hair and one finely tuned Google search, I found this page which gives the quick and dirty clean answer to how to get Thickbox to work with an AJAX page load. So now it’s back to making my page load pretty and having fun doing it - rather than the previously mentioned pulling of hair. My wife will be happy that I still have most of my hair intact.

A Few Changes…

As this is my first post in the portfolio blog, I should give a little background.

I’m graduating from the Multimedia Design program at Durham College in about 2 weeks and as part of the presentation of the final portfolio, I need a website. I wanted to have a lightbox (well, greybox; but lets not get into semantics) but the fancy build in and AJAXy page loads stopped that from happening. Whether it was the custom AJAX calls that I wrote (based on about 3 different tutorials) or a different version of jQuery, I don’t know; and I really don’t have time to figure it out by the time my portfolio is due.

So, we have a slightly less pretty build and more functional version to enable greybox functionality. Oh, and a simple Wordpress template for the blog/homepage.

We’ll see what else I fix add tweak for Thursday - my self imposed deadline for getting everything done.
